2006 Volvo S60 is a car for someone who likes to drive and
remains in the forefront of automotive innovation. With more
stylish design and enhanced driving performance in the 2008
Volvo s60, the stereotype of the boxy, Spartan Volvo has been
erased forever. This will be further exemplified after reading
our 2008 Volvo S60 review. Abundantly evident are those classic
Volvo qualities of safety and advanced features . The focus
of our 2008 Volvo S60 review is the S60's combination of advanced
styling and safety, which will be addressed in our monthly
updates as well. For someone who likes the prestige of a luxury
sedan but wants a more sporty look and feel, the 2008 Volvo
S60 is a sporty entry-level luxury car that would be an excellent
match. Linked from our home page are numerous retailer's web
sites which offer 2008 Volvo S60 accessories, for those who
wish to personalize their S60 .
The 2008 Volvo S60 offers several packages of standard equipment
and engine types that are included in four trim levels or
body styles: the luxurious T5, the 2.5T AWD for the snow endowed,
the midlevel 2.4T, and the Base 2.4. The "base" model is the
2.4 and is equipped with the following features:
dual-zone climate control
power-fold rear headrests
one-touch up and down for front windows
tilt and telescoping steering wheel
In addition the 2.4T gets the following;
a power driver seat
automatic climate control
automatic transmission
The T5 and 2.5 AWD, equipped with aluminum mesh inlays, get
a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power passenger seat and
may be equipped with an in-dash four-disc CD player. Other
options include17-inch wheels, leather trim, heated seats
and a power sunroof. To top off an impressive array of features,
the Volvo Navigation System guides you on your way with an
easy-to-read 6.5" color screen which retracts into the dash
when not in use. The screen displays your location on the
map by utilizing a global positioning satellite system. New
DVD technology gives you access to all of the U.S. and Canada
as well.
The all-wheel-drive version of Volvo's best selling model
gets a more-powerful engine for 2008 . Hidden from view in
our 2008 Volvo S60 picture above, a 2.4-liter five-cylinder
engine that produces 168 horsepower is under the hood of the
S60 2.4. The turbocharged 2.4T unleashes197 horsepower. The
new 2.5T AWD yields 208 horsepower and adds an all-wheel-drive
system. Finally, with its 247-horsepower 2.3-liter turbocharged
engine, the T5 is the most powerful S60. Either a five-speed
manual or a five-speed automatic transmission is offered in
the 2.4 and T5, while the 2.4T and 2.5T AWD are available
only with the automatic. Even though they are a well know
feature of the Volvo dynasty, we would be remiss in our duties
to omit safety features from our 2008 Volvo s60 review. Standard
safety features include:
front side airbags
curtain side airbags
antilock 4-wheel disc brakes
On all S60s traction control is standard. On the T5, an antiskid
system is standard, optional for other models. The S60 scores
four stars for the driver and front passenger in NHTSA crash
testing. Side-impact scores are five stars for front-seat
occupants and rear-seat riders. In IIHS offset crash testing,
the S60 was awarded a rating of "Good" overall.
Similar in design to that of the S80 and V70, the S60's
interior offers plenty of passenger space all around while
the front seats have optimium cushioning and adaptability.
The Climate Package includes heated front seats. Interior
comfort amenities are offered by retailers of 2008 Volvo S60
accessories including a Padded Neck Cushion can be positioned
on any of the car's head restraints to make the journey even
more comfortable. For you workaholics, there is a PC table
to turn your Volvo into a traveling office. Practically and
safely positioned on the front passenger seat, it enables
drivers to reach their computer from the driver's seat and
use it comfortably when the car is parked. We update our 2008
Volvo S60 review accessory picture section on a monthly basis,
