The new 2008 Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUV is sleek, stylish
and comfortable to drive. Welcome to our Mitsubishi Montero
Sport review. New for this year, there are four different
Montero Sport models:
- Mitsubishi Montero Sport ES
- Sport LS
- Sport XLS
- Sport Limited
All of the 2008 Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUV models come
in two- and four-wheel-drive varieties, for even greater customization.
To get some basic Montero Sport specs, or to learn more about
some of the available Montero Sport accessories, please read
on! This is the best site for 2008 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
info of any kind.
At the heart of the Montero Sport is an engine that means
business and doesn't play around:
- Standard on the ES and LS models, you'll find a 3.0-liter,
cast-iron, SOHC 24-valve V-6 engine that delivers 165 horsepower
at 5,250 and 186 pounds-per-foot of torque at 4,000 rpm
- With the XLS and Limited models, you'll find a 3.5-liter,
cast-iron, SOHC 24-valve V-6 engine that delivers 197 horsepower
at 5,000 and 223 pounds-per-foot of torque at 3,500 rpm
Montero Sport performance isn't the only thing critics are
talking about, either. Under the chassis, the Montero Sport
transmission is pretty good, too, and every model comes standard
with a four-speed automatic with Adaptive Shift Control. Then,
of course, there is the suspension - front independent double-wishbone
with torsion bars in the front, and rear solid-axle multi-link
with coil springs in the back. All of this is further proof
that the Montero Sport SUV is one tough truck.
As we've mentioned before the 2008 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
SUV looks great, too. On the outside, the Montero Sport comes
standard with:
- Alloy wheels
- Skid plates for its four-wheel-drive transfer case
- Chrome grille
- Tow hooks
- Intermittent rear window-wiper
- Tinted glass
- Mudguards
On the inside, Montero Sport features continue, including
such amenities as:
- Leather-wrapped steering wheel
- Power windows
- Air conditioning
- Cruise control
- Three 12-volt outlets
- Optional power sunroof
- Height-adjustable steering column
- 10-way adjustable driver's seats
- Six-way adjustable front passenger seats
- 140-watt stereo systems
- Tie-down hooks
To complete our Montero Sport review, we'd be remiss in
mentioning the available accessories, such as a nose mask,
fender flares, and roof rails, to name a few. A variety of
Montero Sport accessories are available from dealer links
on our home page.
Safety is of paramount importance on the Montero Sport SUV,
and the car's side panels are stamped entirely out of one
piece of metal, providing a more rigid and resilient body.
The car also boasts steel-side door beams for even greater
protection, and with its four-wheel disc brakes and MultiMode
ABS, the Montero Sport does a great job of keeping you out
of collisions, as well. For more information about these safety
features, or for additional Mitsubishi Montero Sport reviews
