On the S-Type 3.0, the spirited response of the 235 horsepower, 3.0-liter V6 is controlled through a smooth-shifting five-speed manual transmission
On the S-Type 4.2, a near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution and fully independent suspension manufactured from weight-saving aluminum are more than capable of handling the 293 horsepower with poise and precision.
On the S-Type R, a 390-horsepower supercharged engine with twin intercoolers gives acceleration from zero to sixty mph in 5.3 seconds.
