At the heart of every 2008 GMC Sonoma is a powerful engine
and a transmission that performs second to none. Regular Cab
models some standard with a Vortec 2200 4-cylinder that delivers
120 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and produces 140 pounds-per-foot
of torque at 3,600 rpm. Extended and Crew Cab models come
standard with a Vortec 4300 V-6 that delivers 190 horsepower
at 4,400 rpm and produces 250 pounds-per-foot of torque at
2,800 rpm. All models come standard with:

- Power-assisted rack and pinion steering
- An 18.3 gallon fuel tank
- Capacity to tow up to 6,000 pounds
When it comes to trucks, the 2008 GMC Sonoma pickup means
business. What's more, with standard features as power rack-and-pinion
steering, independent suspension, and more, every Sonoma owner
enjoys his truck.
The 2008 GMC Sonoma looks good, too. On the outside, the
Sonoma pickup comes standard with:
- Halogen fog lamps
- Solar-ray deep tinted glass
- Foldaway rearview mirrors
- Pickup bed made of all-welded steel with double-wall construction
and corrosion protection.
On the inside, the truck boasts:
- Standard air conditioning
- Tilt-wheel steering
- Cruise control
- Front high-back reclining bucket seats
- Rear sliding window
- Available 80-watt sound system and power locks
- Auxiliary power ports
- Intermittent windshield washers
- Optional sunroof
On top of all of these features, there are tons and tons
of available Sonoma accessories, including bed liners, crank
boxes, and more.
Perhaps most importantly, the 2008 GMC Sonoma pickup is
safe. The truck's steel-reinforced side crumple zones mean
that the passenger and driver will have added protection in
the event of a collision. Sonoma also features standard dual
front airbags for the driver and front passenger, and a passenger-side
air bag that can be disabled when carrying children. Finally,
Sonoma comes equipped with a standard four- wheel antilock
braking system, which helps you maintain steering control
on most slippery surfaces while applying maximum braking effort.
