The 2008 Ford Expedition XLT is an awesome SUV and the largest
in its class from Ford. The 2008 Ford Expedition XLT is one
formidable truck. We're not the only ones to note this excellence
- J.D. Power and Associates even recently voted the 2002 model
the best full-size SUV in initial quality. This year, the
Expedition comes in three models:

The 2008 Ford Expedition comes with two different engines.
With the basic Expedition model, you'll get a 4.6-liter, SOHC
V-8 that delivers 232 horsepower at 4,750 rpm, 291 pounds-per-foot
of torque at 3,450 rpm, and the capacity to tow up to 6,050
pounds. With the Expedition XLT and Expedition Eddie Bauer
models, you'll get a 5.4-liter, SOHC V-8 that delivers 260
horsepower at 4,500 rpm, 350 pounds-per-foot of torque at
2,500 rpm, and the capacity to tow up to 8,900 pounds. On
top of this Expedition performance, you'll get:
- Sequential multi-port electronic fuel injection
- Four-speed automatic transmissions
- Coil spring suspension
- Power anti-lock disc brakes
- Available four wheel drive.
On top of this, there are a number of performance-oriented
Expedition accessories that enhance the way the SUV rides
even more. These are the Expedition parts we admire most.
One glance at any Expedition picture and you'll see this
SUV looks great, too. Standard external features include:
- A center, high-mounted LED rear stoplight
- Liftgate with flip-up glass
- Luggage rack with crossbars
- Black running boards.
Inside, the Expedition SUV offers even more amenities. Standard
features on all three models include second row 40/20/40 split-folding
seats, third-row 60/40 split-folding bench, speed control,
power- adjustable gas and brake pedals, rear intermittent
washer, and a keyless entry pad. What's more, when you consider
available Expedition accessories such as roof racks, cargo
nets and grill guards, this truck just might be the best one
on the road today.
If all of these Expedition accessories and amenities aren't
enough, though, every 2008 Ford Expedition review concurs
that this year's Expedition is the safest SUV that Ford ever
has made. Standard safety features consist of:
- Ford's patented Personal Safety System package
- Second Generation driver and passenger airbags
- Side intrusion door beams
- SecuriLock passive anti-theft system
- Safety Canopy first and second row seating with rollover
sensing for extra protection
